Christ Lutheran Church of Odessa, Washington is a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, and locally a member congregation of the Eastern Washington Idaho Synod of the ELCA. We seek to be a fellowship of Christian believers who welcome all people with joy and the peace that enlightens us all in the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Our congregation has been located here in Odessa since 1901. Its roots are the German Russian immigrants who settled in this area around the turn of the century and into the first years of the 1900's. The current building in use was constructed in 1958. Odessa is farming community here in Eastern Washington state where our farmers grow wheat, potatoes, hay, grass, and various other vegetable crops such as onions, peas, corn, etc. There are also a number of cattle ranchers in our area. Currently our membership percentages includes a large number tied in one way or another to agriculture, but we have enjoy a diverse mix of people who work at our local school, hospital, and other business ventures. With God's help and blessings of His Holy Spirit we strive to be a missional outreaching congregation. We encourage all of our members and friends of the congregation to live the gospel in word and deed. We pray that you might do the same in your place of life and worship! Currently we offer Sunday morning Christian educational opportunities for youth preschool through high school as well as for adults in our Sunday morning adult forum. Adult Bible study is also offered mid week, September through early June. We strive to be relevant in our worship and proclamation not being afraid to try new instruments in worship and active learning style teaching for youth and adults. Our current pastor is the Rev. Tim Hauge. He is a 1988 graduate of Trinity Lutheran Seminary in Columbus, Ohio. He has been our pastor since March of 2002. He has served two other parishes in our Montana Synod of the ELCA. His first call was to the Dagmar, Montana parish of Nathanael and Volmer Lutheran Churches near Plentywood, Montana. Pastor Tim served there from 1988 to 1992. In 1992 he moved to the Central Hi Line Lutheran Parish, (then known as the Hingham Kremlin Lutheran Parish). He served in this location for ten years, moving to Christ Lutheran Church and Odessa, Washington in 2002. Pastor Tim is a musician and has self recorded three CD's of original gospel songs. They are entitled "Eyes of Faith", "Grace and Faith", and "Promise". If you would like him to come to your congregation for a concert or other musical event, please give him a call here at the church office, 509-982-2411 or by email at christlutheran@odessaoffice.com. Please note that we are looking into upgrading our website abilities to post some samples of Pastor Tim's music. Check back periodically for updates and other new stuff on our web ministry! If our church family can be of any support or assistance in your life, please let us know. We look forward to the opportunity to share the Word of God with you. God Bless!
